In our current polarized political environment, many people avoid or dread political conversations with friends, family members, and co-workers whose politics differ from their own. People are concerned that any attempts at political discussions will dissolve into arguments, hostility and anger.
In this online workshop you will learn and practice skills for having respectful conversations that clarify differences, search for common ground, and affirm the importance of the relationship.
This workshop is hosted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati. The framework of this Braver Angels workshop will include guidance based on Catholic values and beliefs. Each workshop will open and close in prayer.
This free workshop does the following:
- Provides knowledge about what it takes to have constructive, non-polarizing conversations between people who disagree politically
- Gives you the chance to practice these skills in a safe environment
- Motivates you to have non-polarizing conversations with people in your social network
